Mojito What!!!

This here is Essie Mojito Madness! As you can see it's green.  I used to have an aversion to greens until Essie started coming out with few awesome ones.  I always thought they looked great on everyone else.  The ones I had previously tried were just okay to me.  I happened to try Mojito Madness with an accent nail of Orly Sparkling Garbage and I am in love!! I just adore how these two look together. It will not be the last time I wear this combo!!  Until next time.....happy polishing!

Plain Jane

Today, I have a plain Jane mani. I felt like I needed something a little subdued. I reached for one of my untrieds.....Essie Turquoise and Caicos. It's a beautiful turquoise leaning more towards green. I honesty don't know why I waited so long to wear this polish. The formula was kind of thin and to get the look I was going for I had to use four coats. For my accent nail I used my dotting tool and just made an off center row of dots using WnW French White and A England's St. George and toped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite. Until next time happy polishing!

My First Water Marble!!!!!

Hey all.....I'm super excited about my post today. It's my first water marble!!!  Yay me!  It is a tad bit messy but it's totally worth it!  The colors I used were Essie Midnight Cami, Turquoise and Caicos, Lapis of Luxury and Zoya Caitlin.

Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone
I added Covergirl Goddess,  a holo top coat!

So because I used a glitter top coat, I used a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite.  Now that I know how to do a water marble...this will definitely be my go to design when I want something funky!  Until next time .....happy polishing!

Teddi's Tip of the Day

Nothing is worse than dishpan hands on a woman....even if you don't have nail enhancements. You don't have to go to the salon for weekly manicures....you can save that money and do your own at home manicures. I do my own because no one does my nails to my standards. Here are some of the staples in my at home mani kit:
About once or twice a week, I use Mary Kay Satin Hands.  It's a three step system, a hand scrub, moisturizer and lotion.  I also use Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover when I do a full manicure once or twice a week depending on how my nails look.  Everytime I paint my nails, I always start with a base coat....right now, I'm using Nail Magic Nail Hardener.  If I want to take my nails down a notch, I use Essie's Glass file, it has a super fine grit so as to not damage your nails when filing. The Tropical ShineFour Way Buffer is used to buff ridges out, this is not something you should do often because it could make your nails weak.  I keep Essie Cuticle Oil Pen in my purse because I just hate dry cuticles and before bed, I use Lush's Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter.  It's very thick and smells like citronella to me....a little strong but it gets the job done.

Until next time....happy polishing!

Smooth Sailing

Today I have Essie Smooth Sailing from their summer 2011 collection. It's a pretty dusty blue with what looks like a silver shimmer. Had it not been for rmcandlelight over at
Nails Beautiqued
I would not have given this color a second look. This is 2 coats with a coat of SV

Secret Stash!

Today I have Secret Stash(SS) by Essie. It's a juicy bright pink jelly polish. I so love this color. It's a great summer color. I also used one of my water escalating from Viva La Nails. They're really cool and super easy to use. I used Essie Watermelon as the base because SS is really shear...then 4 coats of SS and Seche Vite top coat.

Until next time....happy polishing!

I'm Seeing Green

So today is Essie Sew Psyched, a soft sagey green color with a very subtle shimmer.
This is two coats of sew psyched and one coat of seche vite. The verdict is still out about whether I like this on me or not.....but everyone else seems to love it. It just so happened to match the jacket I had on yesterday.

My first blog post!!!!!!

Today is my first post...yay me! I've been stalking a couple of blogs and decided it would be fun to start my own about my love of polish. Since I'm new to this..I'm pretty sure you will have seen some of the polish swatches on my posts already. I like them and I hope you all like them as much as I do. Please be patient with my pictures, I'm still trying to figure it out :(

My first polish picture is two coats of Essie Midnight Cami w/ one coat of Sinful Nail Junkie. As a top coat I used one coat to Gelous and two coats of SV. Midnight Cami is a dark blue slightly sparkly color and Nail junkie is a turquois aqua shear glitter. I think it is too shear to wear on it's own and looks best layed over dark colors.
