OPI Jade is the New Black

Today I have for you, OPI Jade is the New Black, a dusty mid toned green from the Hong Kong collection.  I picked this up about 2 yrs ago at one of my local grocery stores on clearance.  I'm not big on greens so I was hesitant to wear it but I finally did and I like it, I really like it! LOL, formula I know but I just couldn't resist.  This is 3 coats followed by a coat of Seche.

Until next time....Happy polishing!!!

Jelly Sandwich Fail

Ok, so I was looking at another mail blog(sorry I can't remember the name) and came across a jelly sandwich that I wanted to try, OPI Y'all Come Back Now Ya Hear and Servin' Up Sparkle.  Well I didn't have Serving Up Sparkle but I did have Pirouette My Whistle, so that us what I used.  Can you say...hated it!  I know hate is a string word but I just did not like it.  On the other blogger it was gorgeous, not so much on me.  I used 2 coats of Y'all Come Back, 1 coat of Pirouette and another coat if Y'all Come Back all topped off with Revlon Quick Dry.  Not my fave and I took it off the next day :-(.  Until next time.....happy polishing!

Excuse Moi!

Today I have OPI Excuse Moi from the muppets collection. I like this best from the collection. There was no problem with application and the glitter is kind of fine but still chunky. For top coat I used one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite

My First Jelly Sandwich!!!!!

Today I have for you a nail trend that is pretty hot right now....jelly sandwich nails.  What is a jelly sandwich you ask...well it's two coats of your favorite jelly/sorbet polish, glitter and finally another coat of jelly/sorbet polish.  For this jelly sandwich, I used 2 coats of OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y...(a combo of deep pink and purple) a coat of OPI Teenage Dream and one final coat of Do You Think I'm Tex-y and to top it all off a coat of SV.  If you ever looking for something to jazz up your standard jelly polish, give a jelly sandwich a try.

I love this combo....it was very pretty and I can't wait to try another jelly sandwich!

Until next time....happy polishing!!!!

NOTD: Double Fisted Fuchsia

Today, I have Double Fisted Fuchsia from Chi. Who knew Chi even made polish? Well anyway, as you can tell from the name....the color is beautifully bright pink....it's been in my untrieds for a while now. It has a pearly look to it....this is 4 coats because it is pretty sheer, on my ring finger is OPI turquoise shatter, all followed by a coat of SV(Seche Vite).

Until next time....happy polishing!

Merry Midnight

OMG....I totally scored the other day at a salon I stopped in to get a pedicure. They had OPI Merry Midnight! I tried to see if they had any for sale, but no such luck, but they offered to sell me the bottle they had, which was about 75% full for $5...winning!!! LOL!!! So obviously, that is my nail of the day today. Merry Midnight is a pretty purple color with flashes of blue & purple glitter and flakies, absolutely beautiful. I applied three coats of MM and 1 coat of Seche Vite.
The pictures do not do this polish justice, you just have to see it in person...if you have a chance to buy this polish, I suggest you snag it. Until next time, happy polishing!

Steady as She Rose

The NOTD is from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection. It's a dusty pink color. At first I had reservations on whether or not this would look good on me, and low and behold it really did. I accented my ring finger with the OPI Silver Shatter and I received plenty of compliments. It applied like a dream and I had to use three coats because it initially seemed streaky, but the third coat evened everything out. So I used a base coat, three coats of SASR and Seche Vite top coat.
What do you think? Until next time, happy polishing!

Funky French

My inspiration for this mani came from Erica over at Chloe's Nails. It's OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte with Seche Vite for the tips. Still trying to get the hang of working with matte polish. You have to work fast. Mine didn't come out as good as Erica's, but I think it's pretty good for my first scotch tape mani!!
