Going Ga-Ga for Green

I know, I know...I have fallen off posting.  I had a very busy weekend and last couple of days trying to get my son ready for school. Anywho....another holo today from Milani.  Today it's a green holo called Hi-Tech.  The color is absolutely gorgeous, but does not look all that hot in the bottle, but on the nail....watch out now!  I couldn't really get a good picture of this no matter how hard I tried :-(.  I had a little trouble with the application, I kept getting bald spots, so I had to use 3 coats as opposed to the two coats I used with all the others. I also topped it off with my fav top coat...Seche Vite.

Look at how it glows!!! I love the color, I just don't like it on me.  Needless to say, this only lasted about a day on me.  If you like green and holo, this is the perfect color for you!

Until next time....happy polishing!

Pretty in Pink!

Day two of my holo feature.....today I have Milani Digital. A pretty pink holo that looks like jewelry on yoiur nails. Again the application was good and this is 3 coats and one coat of Seche Vite. Excuse my pics, it was hard to get a good pic of this, my camera kept making it blurry, so I'm supposing because the sparkliness was making it go crazy

Until next time....happy polishing!

Totally Holo!

Like I mentioned before, I took my queue for my posts this week from Live Life Radiant and I am featuring holographic polishes for the remainder of the week.  Today I have for you Hi-Res from Milani 3D Holographic collection, a purple holo polish with tons of sparkle.  I think the polish looks nice on just about anyone.  Application was great, this is 3 coats with one coat of Seche Vite.  If you have a chance to grab these, I would.  They still have them at my neighborhood CVS.

Look at all that sparkly goodness!!!!  Until next time happy polishing!

Ready for the Red Carpet!

Today I have Sally Hansen's Red Carpet. It's a pretty ruby red jelly with red glitter....now I'm not your bright red kind of girl, but I absolutely love this red. There are only a few red polishes I like and this will definitely be added to the list. I got it from Wegman's(local grocery store...amazing)for $1.99! Can't beat the price. Application was great, minimal clean up and I used 3 coats. I know, I know, the pics aren't that great, still learning. Maybe I should use my camera instead of my phone, oh well. Here she is:

I think for the next couple of posts, I will be taking my queue from Live Life Radiant and featuring holographic polishes.  Since I was late to the party, I wasn't lucky enough to score some of the great China Glaze holos, so I will be featuring Milani 3D Holographic polishes.  Until next time happy polishing!

I'm feeling blue

A while back, I bought two of Revlon's new scented fizz polishes, Grape Fizz and Colada Fizz. They were super pretty in the bottle, but little did I know how sheer they were. So I had to figure out a way to wear these polishes. My fantastic mother-in-law picked up a couple of polishes for me from Avon and one if them was Vintage Blue, a baby blue polish, which would go perfect with Colada Fizz, a light blue glass flecked polish. Vintage Blue was a little streaky, so I had to apply 3 coats, then I applied two coats of Colada Fizz on topm along with my go to quick dry top coat, Seche Vite.
Until next time....happy ploishing!

Dry Marble

Ok, so a few days ago, I was reading Enamel Girl's blog.  It's one of the blogs I follow regularly and came across an interesting way to do marbling. Normally all you see is water marbleing and it's quite messy.  I've been meaning to give it a try but just can't get past the messyness of it.  Apparently CND calls dry marbling the "butterfly effect", why, I don't know because it certainly doesn't look like one.  Anywho, I decided to give it a try since Enamel Girl gave great how to instructions. I used all Sally Hansen Insta-Dry colors in Lightening, Instant Iris, and Going Grape, then topped it off with Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat.  I think it came out awesome!!!. This will be my new go to nail art when I want something special

If you have some time, give this mani a try, I think you will love it, I sure did! Until next time happy polishing!

This is one coat of Nail Magic, one coat of OPI Nail Envy, two coats of Fashion Addict and one coat of SV.

Teddi's Tip of the Day

Ladies, ladies, ladies.....there is nothing worse than raggedy feet in the summer or anytime of year for that matter. You can go longer in between pedis in the winter because no one is going to see your feet(unless your boo has a foot fetish), but you definitely need some type of upkeep in the cold months so when the spring hits your toes are sandal ready. In the cold months, I use vaseline and thick socks at night, so my feet stay baby but soft!

Homage to Kim

This post is in homage to my cousin Kim.....she LOVES black nail polish.  Doesn't matter what brand, just as long as it's black.  Well, I'm not a black polish type of girl, but I decided to paint my nails black....but I couldn't leave well enoigh alone, I added holographic glitter.  For the black I used WnW Black Creme, in my opinion, it is one of the best black creme polishes out there and it's cheap too.  I then topped it with China Glaze Fairy Dust(holo glitter!) and a coat of Seche Vite.

Until next time....happy polishing

Teddi's Tip of the Day

Nothing is worse than dishpan hands on a woman....even if you don't have nail enhancements. You don't have to go to the salon for weekly manicures....you can save that money and do your own at home manicures. I do my own because no one does my nails to my standards. Here are some of the staples in my at home mani kit:
About once or twice a week, I use Mary Kay Satin Hands.  It's a three step system, a hand scrub, moisturizer and lotion.  I also use Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover when I do a full manicure once or twice a week depending on how my nails look.  Everytime I paint my nails, I always start with a base coat....right now, I'm using Nail Magic Nail Hardener.  If I want to take my nails down a notch, I use Essie's Glass file, it has a super fine grit so as to not damage your nails when filing. The Tropical ShineFour Way Buffer is used to buff ridges out, this is not something you should do often because it could make your nails weak.  I keep Essie Cuticle Oil Pen in my purse because I just hate dry cuticles and before bed, I use Lush's Lemon Flutter Cuticle Butter.  It's very thick and smells like citronella to me....a little strong but it gets the job done.

Until next time....happy polishing!

Smooth Sailing

Today I have Essie Smooth Sailing from their summer 2011 collection. It's a pretty dusty blue with what looks like a silver shimmer. Had it not been for rmcandlelight over at
Nails Beautiqued
I would not have given this color a second look. This is 2 coats with a coat of SV
